Admission includes Carowinds Boomerang Bay Waterpark which runs on a separate operating schedule, open to the public Saturday, May 25. Boomerang Bay Waterpark offers a 34,000 square foot wave pool, 1,000 foot long lazy river, 11 exhilarating water slides and 3 interactive family activity areas.

Carowinds Brings Dinosaurs Alive! for Spring 2013!
The Largest Animatronic Dinosaur Park in the Southeast
Charlotte, NC- Carowinds, thrill capitol of the Southeast announces an exciting new attraction for Spring 2013. “Dinosaurs Alive!” will feature 32 roaring, moving dinosaurs along a trail stretching across 5 wooded acres. This multi-million dollar investment will be the largest animatronic dinosaur park in the Southeast and have a number of interactive features, some dinosaurs will move and roar on command, and kids will be able to explore their own dinosaur dig site giving visitors a prehistoric experience like none other.
“There’s a fascination with these ancient creatures that captures the imagination,” says Chris Kirby, Carowinds Marketing Director, “With their advanced robotics and life sized scale we know Dinosaurs Alive is going to thrill kids young and old, which is exactly what we like to do here at Carowinds.”
Exhibit Highlights
*Representation from 25 diverse species originally unearthed in 5 different continents.
*Entertaining and educational, several dinosaurs come with a console so kids can move them themselves and each dinosaur is paired with information sharing how it lived millions of years ago.
*Thirteen scenes spread across 1000+ yards of trails including the ferocious and ever popular Tyrannosaurus Rex as he battles it out with Triceratops.
*The largest dinosaur will reach 40 feet high and over 60 feet long, the Ruyangosaurus from the early Cretaceous period.
Installation begins this winter, dinosaurs will arrive in nine, 40 foot containers to be assembled on site by a team of highly trained robotic specialists, in preparation for opening day .
