Hiking and Sightseeing at Chimney Rock
Saturday, May 30, 8:00 am - 8:00 pm, $34 per person for transportation and admission into park. Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park is located in Chimney Rock Village near Lake Lure in the NC mountains. Just 25 miles southeast of Asheville, NC, the Park is nestled in Hickory Nut Gorge between the towns of Lake Lure and Bat Cave. This towering 315-foot monolith located on the very edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains high above beautiful Hickory Nut Gorge. Army Birthday 5K Fun Run/Walk
Saturday, June 13, 8:00 - 10:00 am, free event, Semmes Lake. Late registration from 6:30 - 7:45 am. Race starts promptly at 8:00 am. 240th Army Birthday- Children's Army Birthday Celebration
Saturday, June 13, 4:00-11:00 p.m., Hood Street Child Development Center, 4585 Hood Street. Special birthday activities will be provided to include a bounce house, weather permitting, and each child will leave with an age-appropriate goodie bag. Cost: $20 for the 1st child; $18 additional children in the same family. All children must be registered at Parent Central Services prior to making a reservation.
