What makes me mad...

Healthy food that is still obnoxiously high in calories. Glazed Salmon, Brown Rice Pilaf, and sugar snap peas...almost eight hundred calories! Grilled chicken and rice Burrito...seven hundred and fifty calories and nineteen hundred milligrams of sodium? As one of my favorite food writers warns, "Don't Trust Others to Cook for You."

Pam you are awesome and I appreciate your doing this program. I really , really need this motivation.

Thanks for the handout of food guide/recipes - I've been juicing practically every morning, of course my husband has to clean up (smile) but I make him juice also. The lentil soup and the Grilled Veggie Casserole is out of this world. Chopping is the most time consuming but is worth it.

I've always been an exerciser to include long distant running for years and aerobics, etc. but due to some injuries over the years, I have slowed down my activities and increased my intake of food. Thus gained more weight than my current clothes can hold.

My hardest temptation is around 8p, I want to eat something SWEET.

Hey yall!!! Me and my coworkers decided to join the fitness challenge and it was the best decision we ever made!!! I have the same feelings as my BFF i am obese according to the scale!!! We truly do motivate each other though so i know we are gonna do the best that we can do in the class. Pam you are an inspiration to me because you have gotten me back on track on exercising everyday....i feel better already and my blood pressure has gotten lower tremendously!!!! My first weigh in truly inspired me to push even more (5 lbs) YAAAY!!! I tried the bootcamp for the first last monday it was hard and i may have not kept up with everybody but i tried it and was happy that i made the effort. Thumbs up to u Pam!! And my friends Tarnisha and Linda lets keep the motivation between us we gotta keep pushing each other!!! And also i see that the classes are like family everyone is friendly and it just makes it seem like we have known each other for years i may not know all by name but its good to know that we can associate with each other!!! Also i wanted to add i have seen tremendous results in my clothing and i am so happy....I keep telling my friends dont worry about not losing the weight as long as we are losing inches we are making progress!!! Thanks and lets keep up the good work!!!

Hey everyone, I am really enjoying this challenge. It was an eye opener for me when I got on the scales, heard what my weight and BMI was all at the same time. OMG in the real world I am OBESE! Its a hard pill to swallow but I did. Being a military spouse is not an easy job. Trying to balance being a wife, a mother, worker, maid, cook, waitress, taxi cab, nurse ect., I've let my physical health go. I called myself working out with my BFF. We would go and workout at Hilton Field, do about 8 laps around and do the bleachers. I saw minimal results and thought to myself, man what am I doing wrong. We heard about the weight loss challenge and I said I can do it for the money. But once I got involved I said I can do it all, for my life and for the money LOL. Pam has really encourged me to do my best and I thank her so much for the HUGE PUSH! Since i started the challenge I have lost 8lbs. (APPLAUSE)!!! And Im going to keep at it. The hardest thing for me was not the exercising but changing my eating habits. The Nutrition class that I attend during this challenge has been soooooo helpful. Im glad to see so many people attending the workouts. You can tell that we all want to make a difference in our lives. Keep up the good work everybody and LET'S DO IT!!!

Just want to give a shout out to Chris (Spinning 0545) and Killer Pam (4:15) Classes. Been Working hard I can see a difference in the clothes. I normally wear a size 20 (TMI) but lord knows now I can get in a 16. I try to stay off the scale. It is very hard but I think I am becoming addicted to working out. After, being a spouse for last 15 Years and traveling and putting everyone else first. I finally am taking time for myself, making exercising a part of my routine.
Stay encouraged, what don't kills you makes you stronger.

Hi Everyone. My name is Jamie, and I'm a food addict. Really, I love to eat and drink, and while I love rich foods, I find my biggest problem is actually eating too much of any food. It could be tofu salad--I'm most likely eating more than a serving. So, I track what I eat (myfitnesspal.com--great site!). And I'm trying to be better.

I've always regularly exercised, but my eating habits have meant yo-yo dieting. In my sophomore year of college, I gained fifty pounds--lost it my junior year and kept it off until I went to graduate school, where I gained that fifty back. Eighteen months ago, I had managed to lose about twenty of it, but was soon back to my old weight...and then some. Last February (my husband went to Korea), I joined the fitness program on base and had lost about ten pounds, but medication, self-pity, and over-eating put me at my heaviest so far. 183. I'm 5'5"--that's embarrassing. And my husband and I want to get pregnant this year. Overweight and pregnant--gestational diabetes, bad labor, bad pregnancy. I have to do something NOW.

So, this year, I'm getting everything under control. More exercise, less consumption. More sleep, less television. Happier, healthier me in 2010 (I'll be thirty). So far, I've done well--some days better than others, but I'm working on it. You'll see me at the gym and in exercise classes, and I hope to see you too.
