The EDGE! Program offers out-of-school opportunities for children and youth to experience, develop, grow, and excel by participating in cutting edge art, fitness, life skills, and adventure activities know as Art EDGE!, Fit EDGE!,
Life EDGE!, and Adventure EDGE!
Art EDGE! promotes learning by doing and focuses on the development of lifetime skills through exposure to the arts. Art EDGE! activities increase creative development while building self-esteem.
Fit EDGE! educates and encourages children and youth to incorporate a healthier lifestyle through physical activity and nutritional awareness program.
Life EDGE! imparts upon children and youth the skills needed for life-long growth as well as the exploration of future career fields.
Adventure EDGE! encourages children and youth to embrace the outdoors and nature while being exposed to activities that stimulate relaxation.
The EDGE program is free to youth ages 11 - 18 through the Army Middle School & Teen initiative.
EDGE is $5.00 per hour for children younger than 11. EDGE participants must first be registered with Child, Youth, & School Services (CYSS).
CYS Services registration is FREE to children of military family members, active
duty reservists, retirees, and civilian employees.
Sign up for EDGE programs can be accomplished in several ways. You may enroll at
CYSS Parent Central Services, 3392 Magruder Avenue in the Joe E. Mann Bldg. Middle
school & teen youth may enroll over the telephone by calling Beverly Metcalfe at 751-3053 or click online . All youth must be
pre-registered before attending any EDGE program.
In the Swing Golf - Monday/Thursday (4:00 - 5:30 p.m.)
Fort Jackson Golf Course, Semmes Road, 9 - 16 years .
Golf like the pros with the EDGE! Learn to putt, chip, drive, and the fundamentals of the game of golf.

Meet at the Youth Center for transportation, 11 - 16 years.
Pitch tents, build fires, fish for food, and other outdoor survival skills.

Twilight Breaking Dawn Book Club - Tuesday/Thursday (3:30 - 5:00 p.m.)

make cool Twilight jewelry and go on a field trip to see the movie!

Climb into the Magic Tree House & learn about the first Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving crafts & snacks.
Nature-Made Crafts - Wednesday (3:30 - 5:00 p.m.) 5955-D Parker Lane, 8 - 15 years. Learn to create beautiful arts and crafts with nature & materials: leaves, twigs, pine cones,
stones, and more.
Outdoor Gourmet - Monday/Thursday (4:00 - 5:30p.m.)
Meet at the Youth Center for transportation. 10 - 16 year olds.
Outdoor cooking is more than just toasted marshmallows and S'Mores! Learn to cook a real meal
in the great outdoors on an open fire.
