All Commands and Senior Enlisted on Fort Jackson will be given an overview of Family Advocacy so that they may understand their role in family violence prevention and intervention. Subjects covered will be the following:

Troop Education/Unit Training
Required by IAW AR 608-18 annually. This consist of education by FAP personnel on the family dynamics of spouse and child abuse, the availability of prevention and treatment services, and the Army’s policy regarding Family Violence. Training available upon request.
Command & Senior Leaders Brief
Required by IAW AR 608-18 for all senior enlisted advisors and commanders within 45 days after appointment to a command position.
*Provides information, education and awareness in the prevention and treatment of child abuse within the military community. *Increases awareness of command responsibilities for identification, reporting and coordination with CRC. *Provides an overview of the Sexual Abuse Response Program Training Available upon request at (803) 751-6325

Managing Emotions is a stress, anger, and relaxation workshop. The workshop focuses on the individual learning techniques to mange stressors, indentify, and decrease triggers of anger, and learn relaxation exercise. This Class is Twice a month, 11:00 –1300. Learn to Choice effective methods to handle anger.
Learn your triggers to anger, and to manage your anger effectively. The class is twice a month, 11:00-12:00. Date TBA. Class Certificate of attendance provided. To register call (803) 751-6325.
(Parents with children ages 13 and up)
This 8 hour parenting workshop offered to Parents of children 13-18. The class addresses parents’ expectations, goals of behavior, and discipline. Class is offered once a month. Call (803) 751-6325.

Child Safety Awareness workshop provides information on how to identify the types of child abuse, the reporting options, and resources for prevention.
This is a required workshop for all military and civilian staff on Fort Jackson who work with or have contact with children.

The Child Abuse Review is an annual update for participants (military and civilian staff on Fort Jackson) who attended the Child Abuse Awareness Workshop.
